Ensembles
As a member of The Patriot Band, a student can look forward to a positive, rewarding, exciting, enjoyable, and hard-working experience. Through dedication and integrity, Patriot Band members can expect to create lifelong friendships. There is a place for everyone in The Patriot Band Program.
Patriot Marching Band
Comprising of all members of the Lakeview Centennial HS Band Program, the Patriot Marching Band is the pride of Lakeview Centennial High School. The Patriot Band is a State Marching Contest participant and has been a consistent UIL sweepstakes award winner. The Patriot Band performs at all Lakeview Centennial HS pep rallies, varsity football games, marching band contests, exhibitions, and other events. Members of the Patriot Band receive P.E., fine arts, and elective credits through their participation in the program.
Concert Bands
Instrumentalists will be placed in a concert ensemble by audition. Each concert ensemble is a semester-long appointment. In addition to the audition, other factors, such as a student’s participation in the All-State process, Solo and Ensemble, and general character, are considered when placing students in the appropriate performance ensemble. We currently have four ensembles: Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony, and Wind Ensemble. The Wind Ensemble, our premier group, recently performed at the 2026 Music for All National Festival!
Jazz Band
Jazz Ensemble at Lakeview Centennial is offered as an after-school opportunity on Mondays and Wednesdays and is selected by audition. Jazz Ensemble competes at local jazz festivals and performs at numerous school and community events. Mr. Santana directs the Jazz Ensemble.
Jazz Band meets once a week after school on Tuesdays. This group is open to anyone, including students who wish to learn a second instrument.
Percussion Ensemble
The Percussion Ensembles meet during regularly scheduled class time and after school. These groups compete in the GISD Solo and Ensemble competition and local percussion festivals. The LCHS Percussion Ensemble recently performed in the 2026 Music for All National Festival!
Color Guard
An important component of the Patriot Band is our Color Guard and Winter Guard, open to both males and females. Guard performers receive dance and movement training and learn to perform with equipment, including flags, rifles, and sabres. During the fall semester, the Color Guard provides visual interest to our marching performances. During the spring semester, the Winter Guard competes at indoor competitions around the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. We currently have two Winter Guard groups: Varsity and JV. In 2026, our JV group finished second in their class, while Varsity finished third at the NTCA Championships.
